Either way, it's going to be interesting because both Gate City and Radford have had state title appearances the past few years. Heck, Radford was there last year versus Essex! Does anyone know what Radford has this year, and if they'll pose a stern test for Gate City? Or is this a game GC should be favored to win with few doubts?

Radford will be a huge jump in competition compared to Coeburn and Honaker. No offense to either of those school's teams but I have seen Radford and Honaker play and there is a difference. I hope GC has a great week of practice!

Coeburn/Honaker to Radford is like going from playing Ole Miss and Indiana to playing Oregon

Congrats GC, just steamrolled Region D this year, dominating performances.

Only surprise today was that Honaker scored

    Re: GC/Honaker

not to my knowledge, but GC had pretty favorable matchups honestly. they are a truly good team, a legit contender, and no other div II team was. the other three teams are mediocre at best, GC will face a much tougher test next week with Radford. its hard to tell what GC's chances upstate are because of how average Region D was this year. No other team in the Region can compete with them so they were never really in a close game since Richlands, and that was not close but it went the other way (Richlands is badass tho, I doubt any div. II teams are that good).

    but impressive nonetheless, total domination.

    Re: GC/Honaker

I think they'll win easily next week as well. Not as easy as the last two weeks, but they should win by 21 or more. They're very good and do the things you need to win. They need to cut down on the stupid penalties they had today though.

    Re: GC/Honaker

Not to be anti-GC but if Radford and Gretna both win, you would have the Saunders brothers coaching against one another for the state title

They already played each other once this year.

No offense but Honaker and Coeburn were that bad. Powell Valley wasn't any better than Honaker and PV would roll past Coeburn but that's it. Really, everyone expected Gate City to make it out of Region D this season. Region D is a joke in Division 2.
